Three quick things to do before your first visit to Broadview Dental in Falls Church
None of these take long, and each helps make your first appointment smoother.
Complete your new patient forms at home
Your forms cover your contact information, medical and dental history, insurance details, consent and privacy paperwork, and anything you would like to discuss with the dentist. Completing your forms before your visit helps make check-in simple and gives our team the information we need to prepare for your appointment.
Send us your insurance information when you book
We will review your benefits before your appointment whenever possible, so you have a clearer idea of your coverage and any expected costs before treatment is recommended. You can find the plans we work with on our insurance page.
Let us know if you have a toothache or dental emergency
If a tooth is hurting, please tell us when you call. We reserve time for same-day emergency dental appointments, and calling early gives us the best chance of seeing you that day.
What to expect during your first dental visit in Falls Church
Every visit is different. Dr. Nam will recommend the care that is appropriate for you, explain what he sees, and talk through any recommendations before moving forward.
- First
A conversation
We will begin by talking about what brought you in, any dental concerns or experiences you have had in the past, and what you would like to achieve with your smile and oral health.
- If needed
Digital X-rays
If your exam calls for them, digital X-rays and CBCT imaging can help Dr. Nam see what is happening beneath the surface, including areas below the gumline and around the roots of your teeth.
- Then
A thorough, gentle exam
Dr. Nam will examine your teeth, existing fillings and crowns, bite, and soft tissues. Your visit also includes an oral cancer screening.
- Measured, not guessed
Your gums and teeth
Your gums will be evaluated along with your teeth. Because gum disease can develop with few noticeable symptoms at first, measuring the gums can help identify concerns early.
- Before you leave
Clear next steps
Before you leave Broadview Dental, Dr. Nam will explain what needs attention now, what may simply need to be monitored, and any recommended treatment options. You will also have a clear understanding of anticipated costs before treatment begins.
Thoughtful care starts with listening
We take time to talk through your concerns, explain what we see, and answer your questions before any treatment is recommended. What comes out of it is a plan you understand, built around your long-term oral health rather than around a single appointment.
- An appointment that is not rushed
- The same dentist every time, because Dr. Nam owns the practice
- Recommendations built around your priorities

Four things worth hearing first
Anything else, just call. We are happy to talk it through before you book.
You are in good hands
If it has been years since your last visit, that is more common than you would think. We start where you are, deal with anything urgent first, and plan the rest at a pace that suits you. Where it is sensible to spread treatment over time, we will say so.
Usually no treatment on the day
The first appointment is about understanding what is going on and agreeing what happens next. Anything beyond that is planned with you and priced before it starts.
Families can come in together
When the schedule allows, we book family appointments back to back. We welcome children from their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming through.
No dental insurance? You still have options.
Our in-house membership plan covers routine care for a flat yearly fee and takes 30% off most additional treatment, with no waiting period. Either way, you will know the cost before anything starts.
